I had a conversation with our Building Inspector recently regarding my position on outside wood boilers. He doesn’t think they are going to be an issue . I continue to disagree. I mentioned them to our former Town Manager at a meeting and I have a post here on the site “Smoke gets in your eyes”. I would like to see a local ordinance banning them. This article while dated will give you more information. Any one that installs one of these is thumbing their nose at the rest of the neighborhood. Since that is a time honored tradition in the live free or die State. I think an ordinance is necessary.

Read the comments to the story as well. Note the many “screw you” comments from boiler users. That’s why we need an ordinance in Town. A woman from Stratham is quoted in the above article. “Gee I look out and I can’t see the smoke , why are my neighbors complaining?” I am sure the owner of one of these can not see the smoke, nor smell it.

Read the comments. You will notice that the defenders of these smoke generators don’t give a hoot about their neighbors. We do not have the people to run around making sure your dear neighbor is not burning tires.
Basically the State Legislature did nothing . You might ask Ms Hassan about this as she was a sponsor. You might ask why NH did really nothing to ban these environmental hazards. Read the whole bill and see how they tied the Towns hands too relative to enforcement. If the State Legislature can’t handle something as simple as this we got trouble. The least they could do is let the Towns make their own decision. Hey you can laugh at my fervor on this subject. You won’t be laughing if your neighbor installs one. In fact the entire neighborhood wont be laughing.
