The Exeter Park & Recreation  Department  is really  a gem. Under  Mike Favreau’s direction  the department has done  nothing but shine. No controversy, just great programs and exceptional  management of  facilities. I did a stint once  on the advisory committee of this department, so  I have a bit of  knowledge regarding it’s inner workings.

It is troubling to me that the Town felt  they could raid the revolving  account which is so important to the department. I thought we voted in 2005 to establish a revolving fund to  essentially make the department self supporting. I have to ask are things so bad that we have to  abrogate that vote for 60K? I am sure the  department had plans for that  money. Why do we want to make  the dept come hat in hand now  for  monies to keep things up to snuff? Was there any discussion  in an open forum regarding this grab?

My kids are all grown up now. We used every facility and program offered by the dept  while they were young. I believe this dept unlike others has a constituency. I expect them to pipe  up on this issue.

I really have a problem  with this.
