I took a great  book to Florida  a few weeks ago, plowed right through it. The title “Union 1812”  “The Americans  Who  Fought The Second War of Independence”. Honestly if you enjoy history you will  love this book. A. J. Langguth is the author.  Check it out.

On the flight  down  we encountered some rough air. The sign came  on, the announcement. It made no difference to many that  simply had to go to  the  bathroom.  The steward was right beside me in a jump seat shaking his head as he intoned to each passenger lurching to the  head. “Ma’am  the  seat belt light is on”. The passenger  just breezed by.  The plane was taking some pretty good hits but they kept coming.

I have to say that  while waiting  for the  departure you actually get to know  them, or at least recognize them on the plane.” Oh that guy  had the giant latte”  I actually try and  restrict  my fluid intake before boarding. That’s not the case these days in most  departure lounges. Why not actually count on rough air?

This is a “you are on your own ” post. “That  warning sign !” ” Ha,  that’s not for me!”

Now in this awful tragedy linked below   you will  find conflicting  news reports.  I am not going to parse that  one. Many have been injured  by turbulence in planes.  I am saying that no one is listening to the crew. I was actually surprised all those people  got out on the wing   in the  Hudson River. I mean it takes what  like 30 minutes now for everyone to shuffle  on , stow all their bags, find their seat( the number is  on your boarding pass) , then go back into the  stowed bag at least once before takeoff. I finished my book on the beach. On my return flight  I popped a benadryl, wake me when it’s over.
