That sign board announcing the “Special  Town Meeting ” has many confused. I am getting asked all sorts of questions on the street. It would seem  that the Town has everyone riled up. Over what? This stimulus  money is really chump change and  the projects that it is being applied to  really need to be done. I guess the only continuing question on my mind  is this one. ” Why  were these projects not done previously?”

If you have been to Arjay’s Hardware recently  you will notice the disturbed pavement  right at the front door. That was caused by a water main  break. We had/have a water main  going six inches or so from the front door. It would seem at one time there was a street there, at one time. How long ago was that ? A long, long time ago.

They are going to now  move it to the corner near the  VFW, then  feed those homes behind Arjays. Then Dan can fix his business entrance and parking lot.

We will be discussing the repairs to  the storm culvert at the Funeral Home on Epping Road today. The funeral home suffered damage as a result of the flooding. That business owner had to go to Court for partial satisfaction.  I still point my finger at the site engineering done on the Hockey Rink.  What would we be  paying Arjays  if the water main had blown in the middle of  the night?

Can someone please get their head  into the problems associated with  40 plus plus  years of no  proactive replacement  of these pipes?

People are making jokes about wooden pipes.  It is not at all funny to me.
