Both articles passed, of course. It was really great to see so many interested citizens present. Lot’s of new faces. I think some graphics, a poster display would have been helpful . One guy asked “Where’s Industrial Drive?” I am not cracking on his question merely pointing out that some basic information and some drawings would have been helpful. My hope is that we come together soon to address the issue of ancient water pipes. Mr Knight feels that that issue should be addressed before the sewerage, drainage issues. I have to say that the protection of the Squamscott River is paramount to me. Hopefully( i thought this was a fix) the CSO’s (combined sewerage overflows) into the river will be reduced or eliminated. If this new pipe around the Elderly Housing on Water street is going to be larger in diameter it may “hold’ more sewerage. I do have a concern about an existing pipe crossing Norris Brook on it’s way to the sewerage treatment plant. It is hanging in the air beside Water St. You can see it by walking towards the road from the Swasey Parkway. Just follow the brook, the pipe is real shaky looking.
I also heard a comment from an attendee last night. He wished that he did not feel compelled to ask so many questions of the Town government. I feel the same way.
