Sitting at Bank Of America today you have to wonder( I do) how the Hospital let that hotel site go. There is more land for sale next door . That old house has a for sale sign. I actually thought the Hospital was involved at some point early on in the process.Either as a full partner or a special one It must be on High Street where they intend on expanding.

I agree. They should also have pursued the meineke muffler site a couple of years ago. I have been asking this question for months. I think that there was some contact about this, but apparently it was not pursued-maybe because the price was unrealistic. I can’t get a straight answer, and at this point I guess it doesn’t matter. On the other hand, if the developers think a 4 story hotel is economically feasible and a gas station can afford to buy Meineke, then the hospital should have pursued it harder. Poor planning on the part of the hospital I think. Instead they tied up their real estate with a gym in an inconvenient location. I am sick about it, because it would have been a much better use of both sites. Now we have to deal with the hospital pushing outward on the other side, claiming hardship. Then there is the fact that the ZBA allowed a height variance, but don’t get me started on that one. This is why I chose not to sit on this case when it came before the planning board.
