We ducked up to Durham yesterday for a  Home Show.

We bought some soap, doggie treats, special balsamic, garlic dipping oil, not for toe dipping, bread dipping. The oil was 22.00. I mention this because I was intrigued by the marketing push of the  entrepreneur and checked him out when I got home. The booth price was  the same as the web price. We heard a pitch on the benefits of infrared sauna booths. We sampled a lobster bisque prepared by a Three Chimneys Chef in a cooking demo. The bisque was excellent  so we hit the Inn  for lunch on the way home. It’s restaurant  week and they have a special menu and it’s a cozy tavern. We had a chat with Keith Lemerise about his new magazine  Coastal Home debuting soon.Check out his  Taste of the Seacoast website for dining coupons.

So back to web  versus  booth price of oil. I got a renewal for Baileys  dog license and was invited by the  form from the Town Clerk to pay online. Cool. I was all set to pull the trigger when I see this one dollar fee for using the web So the fee for my neutered dog  is 11.00 , and I hesitated, for a buck! It gets better. Ok I was going downtown anyway, really I was  but if I can avoid being seen going in the Town Office ,that’s  good. So in I go with cash. I get my change , it seemed wrong,in my favor.”How much is the  license?” “7.50”  Could someone check to see if we  could find  a service for these web transactions that  is enticing  rather than  usurious. I would just as  soon  click to pay. The web based pricing just seems out of whack.
