Dear FFDer’s,
It sure doesn’t feel like it temperature wise but August is beginning of the end of summer. For alot of us who choose to do the lobster thing once a year August seems to be the right time I had my son run up to Maine this morning for a fresh batch of “firmed up new shells”, that though they don’t have the yield of of old shell lobster they are local and do have the right taste . what you give up in fullness , you make up for in taste.and one other small factor : they cost about $2.00 less a pound. If you insist on the hard ones we have those also and they are as full as can be,and if not overcooked they represent great value as well So if you’ve got someone who is warranted a reciprocal invite , get ’em over there. The steamers I’ve been carryin lately are “purged” naturally and though it is expected to get grit when dealing with clams, that factor is pretty much eliminated, adding to the experience. Not goin to take up time mentionin the stuff I picked up in Boston, as Nolan did the Maine swing, except for the :snapper, halibut , wild salmon, tuna, crabmeat, haddock and cod…for starters… come in and browse, and thanks for your time….Fred
