The Exeter UU Church is presenting a concert in the Sanctuary on Saturday,October 16th featuring Curt Bessette, Jenn Kurtz, Neal Zweig, and Scott Ouellette. All musicians have performed for us in the past (Scott in November of 2008 and Curt, Jenn, and Neal in the spring of 2010).

We’re  kicking off a concert series that will feature folk, classical, jazz, and a cappella music this coming fall and in the spring of 2011. The first concert of the series features Curt (a storyteller in the folk tradition)and Scott (an accomplished guitarist that plays a variety of styles including classical and jazz).

“Arts on Elm Street” presents a Folk Concert on Saturday, October 16th at 8:00 PM  at the Exeter UU Church featuring:

Curt Bessette, Jenn Kurtz, Neal Zweig, and Scott Ouellette.

On Saturday, October 16th, at 8:00 PM, a folk concert is being held in the Exeter UU Church Sanctuary. New England favorite Curt Bessette, harmony vocalist JennKurtz,and accompanying guitarist Neal Zweig are the featured performers. Curt is a gifted guitarist and songwriter who has a penchant for creating an atmosphere of warmth, friendliness, and authenticity. A Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk songwriting finalist and Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Showcase Artist, Curt is a familiar face at venues across the country, and in more recent years, across New England.

Curt has recently compiled a number of stories of the World War II era, and presents them in a song format. The songs have been recorded on compact disc entitled “A Few Seconds with Our Fathers, Songs and Stories of World War II”. Curt will be accompanied by his long-time friends Jenn Kurtz and guitarist Neal Zweig.

Scott Ouellette

The evening will open with fingerstyle guitarist, Scott Ouellette. Scott is a self-taught classical guitarist who’s music is inspired by Michael Hedges,Pierre Bensusan, and the natural environment such as the ocean, and the setting sun. Scott has been playing solo guitar for 26 years. Suggested donation for the concert is $15, $10 for seniors and children under 12.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Water Street Bookstore and Exeter Music after September 18th, or at the door the evening of the concert. The First Unitarian UniversalistSociety of Exeter (FUUSE) is handicapped accessible and is located at 12 Elm Street, Exeter, NH.
