From Bob Moore
Musicians, poets, lovers of songs inspired by an old favorite with a new twist enhanced at a harmonic level, others able to run errands and perhaps get out of the house for an evening of good music and poetry while their water pumps are on auto-pilot:
Hope you all are dealing with the elements with a sense of humor. As they say in New Hampshire, if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute. Well, I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting more than a minute and the rain hasn’t changed a whole lot. I suppose it beats the 0-20 degree weather days that lasted for more than its fair share this past winter. I’m looking at the rain gauge half-full I guess. Or, as Pat Parnell mentions in one of her acrostic apothegms, “Just Keep Putting One Step In Front Of The Other.”
This Friday promises to be another great line-up of music and poetry, and we’re pleased to feature singer/guitarist Dick Kruppa and his counterpart singer/guitarist Rob Becker as 2/3 of the group “Random Acts of Harmony”. They’ve been working on songs they’ve done in the past as a trio in a duo arrangement. They also have some new tunes they’ve been working on and I’m sure the harmonies are guaranteed to please the ear. Dick has played with many musical groups over his career doing doo-wop before it was called doo-wop, as well as singing in men’s choirs, and performing in folk bands as a guitarist and banjoist. Rob Becker is a very talented guitarist/singer, has performed in folk bands like Dick opening for nationally recognized artists, and also performs leading roles in theatre and dramatic productions in the New Hampshire seacoast. As Rob says when you approach him about his music, “I love to sing”. Both performers are members of FUUSE.
The coffeehouse is now held in the FUUSE Community Room at 12 Elm Street. The coffeehouse begins at 7 PM, sign-up for the open-mike starts at 6:30 PM.
Hope you can make it, and good luck running your water pumps!
