The television and the radio waves are awash in car insurance ads. I am sure you have noticed this. I have had the same insurance agency and carrier for 20 yrs. I will tell you who it is too, Nationwide. We are not claim heavy here. I did succumb last year or so to calling the cute gecko for a quote. It was high, even less coverage. My boat insurance too has been the same outfit. National Marine Underwriters in Annapolis, Maryland. I have once or twice checked the rate and my rate is solid, really good. So what is the story with all this car insurance advertising?
Is the consumer jumping around to different companies? Are you making a lot of claims? Is it really cheap these days to advertise on radio/television?
It doesn’t seem to me to be a prudent tactic by the consumer, jumping around. I hope everyone is reading the fine print.
The level of new car sales also does not seem to warrant this ad blitz. There has to be something going on that I am missing.
This is one of those things that bugs me. If I am satisfied, 20 years, low premium( checked it) somebody must be getting hosed.
On the face of it appears like wasteful spending by the insurance carriers.
