We have a little  project   coming up with  the sewer line under the Elderly  Housing  Complex . I don’t know all the details. I do know that stimulus money is being used or may be that’s the decision upcoming at the special town  meeting. I am posting this article for one reason . If you read it you will see that Hampton wants to stop sewer service to Rye NH. Rye  is  saying that since Hampton used Federal monies for their system they cannot  exclude  anyone. I would be interested in knowing the potential impacts on Exeter if we   accept the money, even a little money. We do currently provide some sewer service ourselves to homes on the Hampton line. We also provide sewer to the Stratham Industrial Park. We might have a line that  extends through the Industrial Park to the Middle School. I am not sure about that line. It must be one thing to agree to a deal  with your own money , but when you take Uncle  Sam  dough  you no longer have a decision to make.

If anyone knows the answer let me know, before the special  town meeting.

Another  bit of info

The work under the  Elderly  Housng Complex on water St will ostensibly reduce or eliminate the  continuing Combined Sewerage Overflows. These go into the Squamscott and then, the Ocean.  Should we  be  hamstringing  ourselves with taking Federal  dollars. That is  my question.
