This is a image taken from the front door of the Post Office. Dead center above the bank roof, see those pines? The ones  breaking  the the tree line?  I am going up there to get a few more images. That is the high corner of  Fort Rock  Farm. We have some family history up there, the great  UFO hoax. I might post on that as we near  the UFO festival. It’s a funny story, my son’s still laugh about that wild night.

You can park up at  the Henderson  Forest  and  make your way( make sure you can identify poison  ivy) across the gas line into the woods on the other side. Don’t worry too much about compass headings despite the dense woods, you will hit a wall.

This one, it’s about  5 feet tall, you have to climb up, but are rewarded  with a paved path  to the high point. Kids love this ramble, I know. When the kids were little we had a picnic up there.Just make sure they wear long pants.

So up you go.

You have  to climb down once for the gate.

Off again , heading up the next section the wall is  a bit broken up. Lot’s of  voids, brambles,  fun. It’s still better than making your way on the ground. It also  makes a beeline to the top

Almost to the top.

End of the wall. Turn left and  step out of the tree line.

Here is the view

Looking to Town  from the high corner. This is  the field on the other side of the RR tracks behind the  Farm. It’s huge, pristine, there is a pond that always has water in it. A great grove of pines that  extend  to the Rose Farm area. I think we should be looking for a new Town water well  on this property. I think we should buy it.I will  be the  first  to suggest we call this the  Henderson well. What a great legacy, preservation  and water. I have no reason to think there is not water here. I know nothing about the subject, except the  fact the Farm oozes water, all the time. We should get permission to drill some test wells  then buy the land. This would enable others to purchase the  “view ” portion of the Farm. The portion  that was proposed for the Church. This large field would satisfy the State that mandates the area required  for a public water supply.

You can see the Post Office now with my max zoom. Dead  center

This shot is to the RR tracks, the Farm buildings, The Squamscott River. The buildings are obscured by the  magnificent trees.

I have been banging this drum for some time, drilling up  in this field. I do not know why there is reluctance for a bold move. Our current wells are  always it seems  having issues. The public face of this  property truly is magnificent. The back 40  however  could represent  a stellar water resource.  Let’s get talking.

You get  a great view of the wall and the property using this site, Microsoft’s new Bing Browser

http://www.bing.com/

Just click on maps, type in Exeter,NH. Go aerial till you are on top of the farm, and after  screwing down on the  property, hit  the” birds eye”  function. The Live Search  maps  migrated to Bing. These are also quite useful when hearing about  any  land use issues in Town that you want to research.
