Seacoastonline this week pulled a UFO stunt to drive traffic to their website. I hope it worked, fun , at the expense of journalism. The front page today, an ANG tanker pic (from the newspapers extensive archive of tanker pics), and a story about men watching planes land. The paper is a Pease tenant so maybe they committed to all this press about Pease. I am so tired of it. I hope they got a tax break to continually drone on about the airport. I did read that maybe an observation post for the enthusiasts to watch planes might be a good idea. I hope they make them pay for the privilege here in revenue hungry land.Oh make sure to mark your calendars for August and the big Air Show. Gawd, that is really sad , the paper is heralding an event so far away and filling space that should contain news. Just run the ad.
Are the news reporters reimbursed for travel?. Just wondering.
“We got a note or letter or something from the attorney general’s office saying they didn’t think at that point that the track would be suitable for licensing in the coming year,” Connors said. “So we had a meeting and asked for a wind-down plan.”
This quote uttered by N.H. Racing and Charitable Gaming Commission Chairman Timothy J. Connors is lifted from the blog of a reporter with the Keene Sentinel. Connors lives in Newington close to Pease, a SMG reporter could walk over!
He is in charge of bingo too.
I love that quote, “or something”
Mr Connors is in an appointed position, he is a retired gent. The Executive Council appointed him.
This a long story about funny business in Hinsdale NH. I think it is also a story of general NH funny business. I followed this story all the way to some Vegas blogs. It has many layers, the story. You should be concerned , it’s NH. Unless of course you live on the Seacoast. We seem to exist in our own little world.
So, if you want to read something interesting that could also be informative about NH and it’s inability to regulate gambling , read Phil Bantz’s blog. He writes for the Keene Sentinel, and he has a blog. I guess every reporter needs a blog now, so he or she can practice journalism. Read every entry under gambling. The case in now in bankruptcy court. I think the case also causes problems for the AG in charge at the time. She is running for Gregg’s seat.
You should take the time to read all 8 entries on the blog. Yes 8. He is an accomplished reporter,a crime reporter.
Oh, he also has a story about a major NH lawyer going down( possible disbarment) after his poor client relations came to light. The client , a woman, is from Hampton. Mrs Conant the victim, was the Postmistress of New Castle NH. I missed that story in the paper to which I subscribe. It is a tale that informs . It informs anyone dealing with lawyers to be on guard when millions are at stake or even a few thousand.
They’re just people.
“The Keene Sentinel: December 15, 2009
After 16 years of practicing law, a prominent Keene personal injury lawyer might have to find a new profession.
“Timothy A. O’Meara committed deceit, dishonesty, fraud or misrepresentation while handling a multimillion-dollar lawsuit for the family of Anita Conant, a Hampton woman who was paralyzed in a crash four years ago, according to a hearing panel for the N.H. Supreme Court Attorney Discipline Office in Concord.”
“The panel, which is composed of three lawyers and a non-lawyer, heard four days of testimony from O’Meara, the Conants and other witnesses before finding “clear and convincing evidence” that O’Meara violated state rules of professional conduct, panel Chairman Robert C. Varney wrote in a Dec. 2 report.”
Hey!, Nothing like a jury of your peers huh? Physicians get the same special treatment, it’s only fair. The average guy could never understand the intricacies. That’s right , right?

Since I used UFO in my title I have to satisfy those who are wondering what’s “out there”. So, here is a pic from my Picasa library from the last big Pease Air Show. We were watching from the boat on Great Bay. This is the B2 Stealth overhead. That white rod is my VHF antenna.
