Dear FFDers,
I know it’s not even Fall yet, but it did cool down enough to let me get over the stove. Got the salt pork and onions goin to help out the initial hit to the schnoz upon entering. I pretty much lost my sense of smell in a hockey incident a few years back and now have to rely on you folks’ expressions to let me know if somethin ain’t quite right in the joint.
Today it should be pleasin. The aforementioned blendin with assorted fishes simmered in a rich fish stock of grouper and snapper result in the perfect New England fish chowder…I probably mentioned that there’s a reason I’m not invited to the seafood festival at the beach each year. Continually vying for second place doesn’t attract that many vendors.
Other concoctions: Fresh Crab Cakes
Smoked trout Pate
Shrimp in a kind of Hawaiian sauce
Clam Chowder
Baked stuffed clams ( in progress)
The lobsters and steamers are just about perfect..gorgeous NH codfish ,2 wilds: Coho and Sockeye. Sea Scallops from the Cape.Enough really nice produce to save the extra stop. *Something’s burning.* gotta go tend..thanks for your time….Fred
