Discover the “Wonder of Vernal Pools”, a workshop for children and adults, will be held Saturday, May 14th, 10:00 am to 12 noon, at the Exeter Town Office, 10 Front Street, Exeter, NH. The event takes place rain or shine.
Vernal pools are temporary bodies of water created after the snow melts in the spring. The pools provide crucial habitat for salamanders, wood frogs, fairy shrimp, and other creatures.
The workshop will begin at the Exeter Town Office at 10am with a presentation on vernal pools. We will then head outside to visit a vernal pool to learn how to identify critters. Be sure to be dressed for the weather and wear comfortable, walking boots.
This free workshop is being presented by the Exeter River Local Advisory Committee and the Town of Exeter Conservation Commission. For more information call Theresa Walker of the Exeter River Local Advisory Committee at 778-0885. Please come with family and friends to explore the wonder of vernal pools and have lots of fun,
