This is  an American Crow(Corvus brachyrhynchos ). I like  crows, they are so raucous in deportment and provide lots of entertainment as they go about their business. Did you know there is a season for crow hunting in NH?  It’s really a case of a maligned species being used for target  practice.

I  had a book suggested to me about Ravens recently by a pal, while we were discussing the plight of target crows.  The Raven(Corvus corax ) is  truly a magnificent bird. It’s proving to be an interesting read. One of my resident crows dropped me a bookmark.
